Sustainability: Verder Scientific installs photovoltaic system at its headquarters

VERDER Scientific has installed a high-performance solar plant on the roof of its headquarters in Haan, Germany. This has brought us a big step closer to the goal of climate neutrality: The system has a peak output of 407 kilowatts and will cover more than half of the annual energy consumption in the future.

The photovoltaic system is mounted on a roof area as large as a soccer field and consists of over 1,000 solar modules. Together, they generate an annual output of 256,000 kilowatt hours - produced by Verder Scientific and climate-neutral, without emitting harmful carbon dioxide. The contribution to climate protection is impressive. Compared with non-regenerative power generation, the plant saves 114 metric tons of the greenhouse gas every year.

The 400,000 Euro plant is part of a comprehensive initiative with which VERDER Scientific aims to become climate-neutral in the medium term. Corresponding photovoltaic systems are also in preparation at the production sites in Mammelzen and Neuhausen (both Germany) as well as in Golling, Austria. In addition to the use of regenerative energies, we are also planning extensive consumption optimization and energy-saving measures and intend to focus more on emission-free mobility.

The photovoltaic systems that are being installed on all the roofs of our buildings are an important milestone on this path."
